Contributions to the Dale County Democratic Party

Dear fellow citizen:

Please consider contributing to the Dale County Democratic Party. These contributions are to support the local Dale County Democratic Party organization, and the funds are used right here in Dale County. The funds are not sent to Washington, and certainly do not end up in an ex-President's legal defense fund.  Any contributions, great or small, would be greatly appreciated and can take the form of monetary contributions or in-kind contributions, such as the provision of an office location, donated office furniture/computer, printing services, etc. (Contributions are NOT tax deductible.)

Cash and check contributions can be accepted (but are not required) at our monthly meetings. If you contribute by check, please include printed name and address on your check for reporting purposes. Personal check contributions should be made out to the Dale County Democratic Executive Committee and can also be mailed to the following address. Please do not mail cash.

Currently, our website has no e-commerce capability to accept online debit/credit card contributions.

None of us enjoys the task of soliciting contributions, especially from hard working individuals and families that typically make up the Democratic Party constituency.  As you will see below, our monetary needs are modest, not extravagant.  If 100 people made a one time contribution of $10, the $1000 raised would go a long way in jump starting the Democratic Party resurgence here and in countering some of the increasingly extremist positions taken by our opposition.  Of course, if you are financially able, larger contributions or recurring periodic contributions would be even more helpful.  We promise to use any contributions that you make in the most cost effective manner possible, delivering the “most bang for the buck.” Thank you for any assistance that you can provide.

Dale County Democratic Executive Committee members and volunteers receive no compensation for their efforts, but unfortunately, there are other expenses that cannot be avoided. For example:

• Current Expenses:

  • Cost to rent meeting room at library one night a month;

  • PO Box rental in Ozark for written correspondence and fundraising;

  • Domain registration for website;

  • Miscellaneous printing costs;

  • Etc.

Future Expenses:

• As 2024 election nears (certainly by 2025 municipal elections), we would like to have a physical office location, preferably in Ozark. (Temporary or permanent office)

  • Office rent;

  • Office utilities;

  • Office phone;

  • Miscellaneous office supplies;

  • Office furnishing - Hopefully donated or loaned;

  • Office computer - Hopefully donated or loaned.

• Other Expenses To Improve Outreach, Voter Registration/Turnout, and Candidate Recruitment:

  • Purchase of voter database information to facilitate canvassing and phone banks;

  • Purchase of information table/booth at local public events like Ozark Crawdad Festival and Claybank Jamboree Festival;

  • Etc.

Right now, we lack the funds to do much more than meet our current expenses. We would like to improve our outreach, voter registration, and candidate recruitment efforts. With just a little funding for expenses, the labor of our members and volunteers can accomplish a great deal. For example, we are currently funding a table (booth) at the Ozark Crawdad Festival to promote Dale County Democrats; to inform voters about our meetings and activities; to listen to voters' concerns; and to recruit new volunteers (and possibly a potential future candidate). Unfortunately, when we budget for our near term expenses and we plan for future expenses, it is difficult to afford even this small additional expense.

If you so desire, Democrats and Democratic leaning voters can contribute to other campaigns and political action committees via the secure website ActBlue. For example, donations can be made to the Democratic National Committee, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the Alabama Democratic Victory Fund, and hundreds of other Democratic and progressive candidates and organizations.  ActBlue addresses federal, state, and some local campaigns throughout the United States.
